I will work hard in the Legislature to question and cut the waste wherever possible, and fight to help lower the tax burden on Nebraskans in a significant way. I believe that our government should be efficient and nimble, that politicians don't know how to spend your money better than you do, and that its impact felt on our daily lives be minimal. Both the regulations inhibiting the pursuit of the good life, and the overreach on our freedoms, must be immediately reigned in.
Parents are becoming increasingly concerned about the educational experience of their children in schools. Teachers should be able to focus on setting students up to be successful, productive citizens that could compete against anyone in the world, as opposed to being forced to push curriculums with political agendas. The classroom should be a high class, encouraging environment that enables free speech, diversity of thought, and is transparent to us parents all along the way. Each of our family’s unique values and cultures must be respected, and to do so, is to let parents handle the teaching of morality at home. It is not the school's responsibility to determine what kids should think, but instead, to empower them to learn how to think critically.
